By Robert Louis Stevenson
Adaptation by Ken Ludwig
Directed by Jeremy Johnson
‘Fifteen Men on a dead man’s chest
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!’
What better way to open the 2016 season and celebrate
the 50th year at the Pavilion Theatre than with a
full scale staging of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic
adventure tale ‘Treasure Island!’
The beloved story of swashbucklers and treacherous
pirates setting sail on the Hispaniola in search of
buried treasure in the Caribbean!
With such characters as Billy Bones, Israel Hands,
Black Dog and Blind Pew, Treasure Island is sure to
delight another generation of young and old as it’s
done for over 130 years. And at the heart of the tale
is the relationship between the fatherless 14 year
old boy, Jim Hawkins, and one of the greatest hero/
villains in literature, Long John Silver!
Arrrrrrgh, me hearties! Hoist sails, pull anchor and
get on board!
